A Case of Spontaneous Neonatal Gastric Perforation
Abstract
Spontaneous neonatal gastric perforation is a rare surgical emergency requiring early diagnosis and treatment for survival, and is still a pathologic curiosity with etiology unknown.
We experienced a case of spontaneous perforation of the stomach in a 2 day-old newborn female patient who presented with abdominal distention and respiratory difficulty, diagnosed by radiologic evidence of pneumoperitoneum in simple x-ray films of abdomen and confirmed at operation.
We report the case with brief review of literatures.
